Share works by artists with severe mental illness, especially schizophrenia and dp/dr (and not those just emulating their style without suffering their psychosis or dissociation).

And this sequence of his drawings (each of the same "cat") is clearly indicative of the progression of his disease over time.

I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to suffer from the type of illness that manifests as this artwork.

I always thought this artist depicted his/her experimentation with psychedelic drugs.
Had no idea schizophrenia (has the potential to be?) / is this psychedelic in visual description. I was aware of auditory hallucinations and more mild and disturbing hallucinations though - more like these: >>450 >>444 (2nd)

this is a little misleading, these aren't in sequence and some of Wain's other artpieces during the schizophrenic periods of his life are pretty regular in comparison. You could say this shows how the illness can effect his mindset as he made his art, but it's really not a way to show the progression or impact it had on his work as a whole.

I've played with the thought of inducing psychosis out of interest. But then I've come to my senses so to speak.

Henry Darger is my favourite outsider artist; his works are really interesting.
I recommend watching the documentary about him called 'In the Realms of the Unreal'.

You could do this with a deliriant like DPH pretty easily. It's not fun though, speaking from experience. The worst is the restless-everything-syndrome that comes with benedryl.
>>798
I know this as the cover of Fanged Noumena of course, but where is this actually from?
>>838
Thank you for the Darger. That documentary is great, but if you want something a little lighter and more succinct I also recommend the Fredrick Knudsen Henry Darger episode. I've seen it multiple times at this point, that whole channel is worth binging.
