Yup, that hamburger menu everyone hated 4 years ago is now considered a standard feature of all interfaces. Worst of all, it's always made with javascript, and not css.
Oh, speaking of CSS themes, those Alice and Lain faces should deliver styles via cookies like some sites do.

New user here and i have no idea as to what's going on. I have been scrolling through /all/ for a minute and can't make out a shred of sense from this place. I came here after i watched Blade Runner (Which was great mind you) and was looking to meet like-minded people.
So can some direct me to the guide of this site or something cause i'm pretty lost.

Hi everyone, I am doing some research on the Cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe, and I was wondering if any of you can give me any other info, particularly if you or someone you know lives in Zimbabwe, especially in the hard hit areas such as Harare.
Thank you.

I've been listening to Intervals and Erra - both have a similar sound to Periphery, whom I also like.

I'd say my favorite genres are prog metal, complextro/brostep, baroque and IDM.

 No.1898

I listen to classical a lot, mainly baroque and romantic compositors. I enjoy listening to some guitarists too, like Francisco Tarrega. Besides that, hip-hop and dadrock.

On a scale of 1~10, with 1 being "absolute sperg" and 10 being "loudmouthed chad and his goons", where would you put yourself?

I think your metric is all wrong. Punk's all about the underdog, it's the kids who don't care about their popularity or social status, or acting appropriately. Punk was about the losers before it was about anything else.

"Chads" are basically preps circa 10-15 years ago. The only difference is they now dress differently, and a lot more of them are mark zuckerburg, silicon valley types.

Within punk rock even, there's a massive scale of big and small "personalities" from the people in bands to that one guy who shouts funny heckling remarks from the pit to the nerd behind a table selling zines to that one person in the corner staring into their pint who nods their head to the music and never speaks to anyone.

Hey Alice, I'm going to Germany at the end of this month, planning to stop in France and the Netherlands as well. What cyber stuff can i find there durring that time? Any interesting places to visit?

 No.1775

>>1771 (OP)
Too bad that until now this is the only reply. In terms of Germany, I can only talk about Berlin. If you want to experience a gritty, multicultural, neonlight clusterfuck just give Kottbusser Tor at night and Hermannplatz at an early evening a shot while you watch your pockets. Nice mix of western oriential people, hipsters and slav bums. If you like quite walks in the early evening or night, cross the Monumentenbrücke (Monumentenstraße) and go through the Park am Gleisdreieck while heading towards the Potsdamer Platz, where you can also find the Sony Center. If you're into clubbing, check out Grießmühle and aboutblank. Take care that you have the event's name and the lineup somewhat in mind when you plan to attend an event. The door personnel might ask questions regarding that. Also, be prepared that the bouncers might reject you and that, if they allow you to enter, the admission might cost €15. Also check out the train station Görlitzer Park. Also check out Koepi 137 if you're into squat venues. The admission is significantly lower at such places. Sorry for not bringing up anything specific 'cyberpunk' but that's what came to my mind.

Germany has a lot to offer, I love Berlin but if you have the chance and the time, try to discover the countryside a bit. There are great places to hike and a lot of museums. If you're more interested into urban Germany, you should visit Hamburg and Munich too, especially Munich if you like a good Biergarten

Hey /cyb/ is Macau cyberpunk? Kind or reminds me of kowloon with all the clutter, but then there are also those buildings in the background

 No.1689

What a nice place, let's talk about Macau, share infos, I like the aesthetics. I read a little about it in Wikipedia, I don't have much time now to read more.
Anyway, I just had a sudden affection for this place. Imagine having a minimalist lifestyle in this place.

Overcrowded poor areas are 'punk' in their own right, specially if near or bordering rich areas but i don't see much cyber there.

 No.1691

>>1689
Sorry to burst your bubble friend, but the more you learn about it the less it will probably match with what you are imagining in your head tbh. Having gone there, I can say, the place is literally just a giant resort zone with some slums surrounding it for the workers. The resort areas were constantly flooded with thousands of Chinese tourists, it was hard to even walk there. A lot of people were coming to look at the older colonial architecture also (the slummier areas) so even those areas with all their little narrow roads like the one in your picture were sardine-packed with pushy Chinese mainland tourists taking selfies.

It would maybe be a cool town during some off season maybe, but I was under the impression that I was there offseason-ish? So idk.

>the place is literally just a giant resort zone with some slums surrounding it for the workers
Neuromancer's Chiba could probably fit that description, though even in the story, it's not really a good place to look if you're trying to start some kind of cybernetics adventure, as seen by how Case only lived there while his nervous system was too messed up to inteface with a deck.

 No.1761

Macau is Chinas version of Las Vegas. You can gamble there and that is what people do. A friend of mine went there and basically just lost all the money he took along, while I went skateboarding in Shenzhen.
